Christi Barhaug
Christi Barhaug’s love affair with horses began shortly after she was born. Her passion for using art to express that love began when she was old enough to hold a crayon and draw pictures of her favorite subject. Barhaug’s high school art teacher was a true inspiration to her, but had to battle with her to get her to do paintings of anything but horses. The second best subject that she liked to draw and paint were people. Barhaug attended Stephen’s college where she studied fine art and equestrian science. In the early nineties, Barhaug embarked on an adventure to the great western state of Wyoming where she “could ride for miles”. She now lives on her ranch in Wyoming with her broodmares, two Jack Russell terriers, and cat. The subjects of her paintings are still expressions of her passion and love for horses and the local people and lifestyle she is blessed to be a part of. More examples of her work can be seen online at christibarhaug.com.
